In case of (semi) permanent installation in a vehicle, the CatchCAM cameras can be mounted inside or outside the vehicle of choice. Using the integrated powerful infrared LED lightning, the camera can read license plates of passing vehicles in its view from 1-35m (1-115ft), depending on the configuration. Mounting the CatchCAM camera inside the car gives the advantages of being less visible to civilians, making the system more weatherproof, and making the installation very easy. With the CatchKen software (UI), the vehicle operator can view ANPR/LPR reads, compare them with the target hitlist, search license plates, and more.
The AutoKit can be delivered with or without an automotive PC, depending on the customer’s requirements. The system is fully modular, starting from just a camera to a full-package solution with an automotive PC, network equipment, and multiple cameras. Visualisation for the LPR system can be done using the in-car OEM display (when an interface is available), PC/tablet, or external automotive display.
